Agricola Weltmeisterschaft 2011

Dies ist die Startseite zur Agricola-Weltmeisterschaft 2011 am 19.November 2011 im Rahmen des Spielefests in Wien (A).

The tournament takes place on Saturday, 19th November during the Spielefest Event in the Austria Center Vienna.
Participants get a free pass for the show.
Please register at the desk between 8:45 and 9:15 on Saturday morning. The tournament will start at 9:30.
Three rounds will be played. In the first round, the participants will be seated by random, but we’ll try to make sure that no 2 players from the same country sit on the same table. For the further rounds, Swiss format will be used: Players will be sorted and seated by score.
We will use a brand new 115 card deck (divided into 5 mini decks of 23 cards), the so-called „Weltmeisterschaftsdeck“. Cards will be available both in English and German. Gameboards, Round cards and Major Improvement cards will be in German (but I’m sure that every player qualifying for a World Championship knows them by heart).
The first round will have the format „Discard down to 7″. Each player will get one mini deck of 23 cards depending on the seating position at the table. There will be 2 different scores in this round:
* A player scores points for her/his rank at the table
* A player scores additional points for his/her score in comparison to the other players playing with the same deck.
The second and third round will be played in different draft formats: Round 2 will be a Rochester Draft, Round 3 probably a Booster Draft.

Regulations for national qualifiers:

* Each nation can send up to 4 players to Vienna — that depends on the number of partipicants for the qualifier.
* to qualify 1 player for Vienna, the qualifier should have at least 8 players participating; if 16÷24÷32 players participate, 2÷3÷4 players can start there.
* qualification does not have ot be at one event — so a nation could theoretically hold tournaments in up to 4 cities.
* the local organizer can choose the mode for the tournament
* qualification tournaments have to be played before October 31st
* Tournament dates should be registered with Lookout Games, tournament results have to be reported and will be posted here on this web page
